Optical coating refers to coating one or more layers of metal or dielectric films on the surface of optical parts. The purpose is to change the reflection and transmission characteristics of the material surface to reduce or increase the reflection, beam splitting, color separation, filtering, polarization and other requirements of light. The principle is light interference. In thin film optics, different intensity distributions can be obtained by controlling the refractive index and thickness of the film. After coating on the surface of optical parts, light is reflected and transmitted on the film layers for many times, forming multi beam interference, so as to achieve accurate control of light.
